Leslie Grace - Biografía Cuando el gran talento se reconoce y se alimenta desde una temprana edad y a éste se le acompaña con gran esfuerzo y el deseo increíble de alcanzar tus sueños, lo que tenemos como resultado es la joven cantante Leslie Grace.
Esta neoyorquina, nacida de padres dominicanos y que hoy en día reside en Davie FL, daba mini conciertos en la sala de su casa para el deleite de sus cinco hermanos y sus padres aún antes de poder hablar bien. Afortunadamente su familia no descontó estos conciertitos como juegos de la pequeña. De ellos recibió un gran apoyo y confianza en su talento para buscar el éxito haciendo lo que a ella le encanta: escribir canciones y presentárselas al mundo en su propia voz. La confianza que ellos depositaron en ella ha dado resultados.
A los 14 años grabó su primer álbum mientras continuaba escribiendo y cantando. Unos años después tuvo la suerte de conocer a ejecutivos de Top Stop Music, y fue así como firmó su primer contrato discográfico a los 17 años de edad.
Leslie Grace lanzó su carrera profesional en el 2012 con el sencillo “Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow”, un cover bilingüe con toques de Bachata, escrito en parte por la icónica Carole King. Este tema se convirtió en la historia más grande del año para una "artista en desarrollo". “Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow” alcanzó el puesto #1 en la tabla nacional de Latin Radio Airplay de Billboard. Con este hecho, Leslie se convirtió en la cantante femenina más joven en conseguir este logro.
Parte de su éxito se debe a su entrega total a su trabajo y a su arte. Ese mismo año Leslie emprendió una extensa gira de presentaciones en las ciudades más importantes del país, durante la cual se presentó en Premios Juventud 2012 y en Sábado Gigante con Don Francisco. Nunca satisfecha y siempre tratando de llegarle a gente nueva, Leslie hizo una gira fuera de Estados Unidos que incluyó una presentación en la isla de Curazao. Fue ahí donde Leslie Grace tomó el escenario sólo minutos antes de Alicia Keys en el North Sea Jazz Festival. En Sudamérica, se presentó y cantó en el prestigioso Teletón Chile con Don Francisco. Su visita culminó en el Estadio Nacional, donde cantó para un público de más de 60,000 personas.
Leslie Grace le dio cierre al 2012 con el lanzamiento de su segundo sencillo “Day 1”, el cual escribió con su amigo y colaborador, Rey King. “Day 1” fue un éxito instantáneo, rápidamente alcanzando el puesto #1 de la tabla de Tropical Airplay de Billboard. Cuando le preguntan qué inspiró el tema, “Day 1”, ella contesta, “me motivaron las fuertes, familiares y a la vez impalpables, emociones que nos llenan cuando nos encontramos con el amor por primera vez. ‘Day 1’ es el primer día con ese regalo”. Un regalo que ella compartió con sus seguidores en los Premios ASCAP, el Festival Calle Ocho, la Conferencia Latin Billboard y otros eventos.
En mayo de este año, Leslie Grace presentó su tercer sencillo, “Be My Baby”, el cual describe como la continuación de “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” y algo que sus fans le pedían. “Be My Baby”, un clásico que trasciende el paso de los años y que ahora Leslie reinterpreta con su estilo único, rapidamente alcanzó el tope de las listas radiales y se convirtio en la favorita de los fans luego de hacer su debut en televisión nacional en el mismo escenario que la lanzó al éxito un año atrás, Premios Juventud 2013, y recientemente en los Latin GRAMMYs.
Actualmente, Leslie se encuentra de gira en Estados Unidos y a la vez promueve su tercer sencillo “Odio no Odiarte” de su producción “Leslie Grace”. El álbum contiene 11 canciones, 6 de las cuales escribió en colaboración con los talentosos Diane Warren, Anne Preven, Daniel Santacruz, Sergio George y Yoel Henríquez. Éste, su primer álbum, fue producido bajo la dirección del talentoso y ganador del premio GRAMMY, Sergio George.
El álbum “Leslie Grace”, al igual que ella, es una fusión de sus raíces culturales y estilos musicales que incluyen el Pop y el Tecno, entre otros géneros, y claro, la Bachata. This young New Yorker, born of Dominican parents, and who currently lives in Davie FL., was entertaining her five older siblings and parents when she could barely speak. Rather than dismiss it as childish games, her family gave her the confidence to trust in her talent and pursue success doing what she loves: writing and performing. That trust has paid off. At 14, she recorded her first album and continued to work on her singing and writing. A few years later, Leslie was introduced to Top Stop Music executives and signed her first recording contract at 17 years of age.
Leslie Grace launched her professional career in 2012, with her single, "Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow," a bilingual, Bachata-infused cover co-written by the iconic Carole King. This song became the biggest story of the year for an “artist in development.” “Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow” reached #1 on Billboard’s Latin Radio Airplay chart, making Leslie the youngest Latin female artist to achieve this. Part of her success is due to her strong work ethic and commitment to her art. Never satisfied and always striving to reach a bigger audience, Leslie toured abroad performing in the Caribbean island of Curaçao, where she took the stage minutes before Alicia Keys at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
